Dickies has reached its century milestone and turned 100 years old.

A celebration to show the growth and evolution of the brand is the most important way to commemorate this significant milestone.

On the 3rd of December, in the heart of Johannesburg central – Hallmark House, Dickies celebrated its 100^th anniversary; the event was split into two venues. The first part of the celebration was dedicated to honouring the history of Dickies, in an art gallery-style exhibition. As the sun set with the views of the never resting Jozi, that’s when the party began. Good energy wasn’t the only thing flowing, there were complimentary tattoos too.

The online one-stop shop came to life on a stage built in the heart of Sandton City, opening the spotlight to a range of beautiful South African children with a time to shine on the runway. Each brand speaks to the consumer in a unique way, with an assortment of premium brands boasting eccentric designs and accessories well suited to your kid; no matter their style preference or personality.

Craighall, Johannesburg, 2022.

On the 27th of October, Palladium celebrated its 75^th anniversary;

Guests were guided through the history of Palladium’s major milestone decades, namely the 1920s, 1940s, 1970s, 1980s and the 1990s. Each of these milestone decades was represented by an installation which was dedicated to communicating the importance of that decade to the Palladium brand.

Amongst the guests were the likes of trendy, top influencers Tumi Moliko, Jay Pharasi, Pamzokuhle, and so much more.
Also in attendance was famed musician Langa Mavuso.

Five years in the making, Dark and Lovely’s new offering, “Dream Big – Au Naturale was launched in a cutely set-up location in the west of Johannesburg on the 24 of November 2022. The exclusive launch was themed “Earthy Nudes and White.” They catered to the brands’ influencers, scientists, the team, and special guests such as former Miss Universe Zozi Tunzi. She shared her own hair experiences, praising Dark and Lovely for being consistent in the Black community.

The brand brought its lab science experts to showcase the process behind the making of Dream Big Au Naturale. Standing at the forefront to showcase the experiment was Obakeng, a cosmetic development scientist. By mixing distilled water, oil, as well as a certain pill, the experts created an emulsion. However, because the two don’t mix, they add a surfactant, a product that has both water and oil particles and helps to pull them together and form an emulsion. This lab experience has taken the Dark and Lovely team five years to master and perfect, which gives them confidence that it is now ready for the consumer.

Dream Big is a curl elongating treatment designed to help soften, strengthen, and add up to 2 cm to 4A to 4C natural hair.

As a brand that has always prided themselves in empowering, community building and creating opportunities, Converse has done it again with 4 South African-based All Stars (Muruńwa Mutele – Nikita Adams – Barney Modise – Ryan Nortjie) along with live electronic act from Cape Town musician- The Kiffness an artist that is constantly creating their Next.
